About MadHop Music Festival
MadHop Music Festival got its start in 2019 with a simple, slightly rebellious idea: what if a festival didn't need one big field and one big stage? What if it lived inside the town itself?
That first year set the tone for everything MadHop has become. Today, it's Madison's most unique live music experience — right in the heart of historic downtown. Instead of one big stage, MadHop takes over 8 of Madison's most popular venues, creating a walkable, hop-to-it festival where every stop offers a new sound and vibe.
Since that first hop in 2019, the festival has kept evolving — more venues, more artists, more reasons to wander a little farther and discover something new. The spirit hasn't changed: playful, community-built, and driven by people who just really love live music.

DOWNTOWN MADISON, INDIANA
MadHop wouldn't exist without Downtown Madison — a historic river town that's quietly becoming known as Music City, Indiana. With its walkable streets, well-preserved 19th-century architecture, and a growing cluster of music venues, breweries, and taprooms, downtown Madison is practically built for a festival like this.
It's a small footprint with a big personality — the kind of place where a folk duo, a rock band, and a brewery patio can all live within a two-block walk of each other. MadHop is proud to spotlight it every November, and even prouder that so many festivalgoers leave with a new appreciation for the town, not just the music.
